I recently wrote a blog on the supplements that I believe the majority of us should be taking every single day. The list includes supplements like magnesium, probiotics and vitamin D & K that are absolutely vital to everyday health and the majority of humans do not obtain enough of these vitamins and minerals from diet alone. But there are several supplements that I recommend to the majority of my clients (and almost everyone else!) that might not need to be taken every day but should be taken regularly. These additional supplements are especially important for issues such as detoxing, stress reduction, low energy and immune building. It is also important to consider supplementing with these vitamins, minerals and herbs if you are experiencing some other general health concerns.

Liver Detox – Innate Response

This supplement is made from a powerful blend of milk thistle, schizandra, dandelion root, turmeric root and N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) that work in synergy to support liver health. The liver is responsible for so much vital work within the body. It plays key roles in detoxification, circulation, metabolism, digestion, hormone balance and more so it is essential that we support it in any way that we can. This liver detox supplement is an ideal way to do that.

Adrenal Response – Innate Response

Can you tell that I am a huge fan of Innate Response supplements? They are all organic and food-based which makes for easier absorption. Similar to the Liver Detox supplement, this Adrenal Response supplement provides support to the indefatigable adrenal glands. Our adrenal glands are essential for countless bodily functions as they are responsible for hormone production, which is no small feat! I recommend taking 2 tablets in the morning and if you are experiencing a lot of stress then take 2 more tablets in the later afternoon or early evening.

Organic Superfood Powder – Pure Synergy

This organic green powder is unlike any other that I have come across. It took me years (I’m not exaggerating) to find a greens powder that met my rigorous standards and checked all of my particular boxes. This powder is made up of 60+ organic superfoods including aquatic greens, grass juices, sprouts, fruits & vegetables, mushrooms, herbal extracts and more. Just of few of its benefits include improvement in mental clarity, detoxification, energy boosting, immune system enhancement and more.

NAC – Pure Encapsulations

The benefits of NAC are becoming more and more well-known. It is a precursor to glutathione, which I believe is the most important disease-preventing molecule (see below). But NAC on its own is also a key player in our health because it provides a significant boost of antioxidants, which are essential for the destruction of harmful free radicals and overall immunity. I always tell my clients that they should take two capsules of NAC rather than the single recommended supplement on the bottle for optimal results.

Liposomal Glutathione – Quicksilver

Glutathione (or GSH) is a peptide molecule that is made up of three essential amino acids – cysteine, glycine and glutamine – and it is found in every single cell in the human body. And what healthcare professionals are finding is that with many patients who are diagnosed with the most common diseases, they typically also have a deficiency in glutathione. This brand of glutathione can be a bit tricky to find since it is a liposomal liquid, but it is my favorite if you can get your hands on it as it is difficult to absorb glutathione in capsule form.

Maca Root – Gaia

There is nothing worse than starting the day off feeling exhausted. But I try to avoid caffeine whenever possible, so this energy-boosting maca supplement is such a lifesaver. Maca is a plant-based adaptogenic superfood that also works to balance hormones and boost libido (you are welcome). Gaia is a trustworthy brand that I have been using for many years.

Vitamin C – Quicksilver

This is another supplement that we should all be taking regularly. It is a strong natural antiviral and it is also amazing for immunity boosting. Vitamin C strengthens immune cells – especially killer cells that attack pathogens such as Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). It also flushes toxins out of the liver and helps restore the central nervous system from neurotoxin damage. It also reduces thyroid nodules, tumors and cysts and restores adrenals. This supplement comes in packets or liquid form, but be warned, neither version tastes wonderful.
