How to Juice Without a Juicer

If you know me, you know how much I love juicing—every single day! It is such an easy way to consume so many incredible nutrients in one go. Juicing was one of the most powerful tools that helped me to beat cancer (and many other health ailments, too)!

Organic green juices are like liquid gold. They are packed with antioxidants, plant-based nutrients, live enzymes, and come in a highly absorbable, pre-digested form, making it easier for your body to utilize the goodness. You can also check off several servings of vegetables and one or two servings of fruits with fresh juice. I encourage my clients to aim for nine cups of vegetables each day. It may sound like a lot—but the benefits of consuming this amount are worth it, and juicing can make getting there seem much more attainable.

Now for the best part: just about everyone can enjoy a fresh, organic vegetable juice at home, even if you don’t have a juicer. All you need is your blender and a few ingredients. Using a blender even gives you the added benefit of the vegetable and fruit fiber in your juice. Remember: your beneficial gut bacteria feed on fiber to produce short-chain fatty acids. These fatty acids aid in better metabolic function, reduced inflammation, mood regulation, and more.

Here’s are three different recipes for a fantastic blender-made juice:

Juice 1:

  • 2 cups spinach

  • 2 cups of microgreens

  • Juice from half a lemon

  • 20 ounces water

  • Stevia to taste

Juice 2:

  • 3 cups mixed greens

  • ½ head of parsley

  • Juice from half a lime

  • 20 ounces water

  • Stevia to taste

Juice 3:

  • 3 cups mixed greens

  • Handful of basil

  • Juice from half a lime

  • 1-2” ginger

  • 20 ounces water

  • Stevia to taste

For each of these recipes, simply combine in a blender, blend until smooth, and enjoy!

Some things to remember when you first start juicing:

  • Be careful adding lots of fruits every day because they contain a lot of sugar and can spike your blood sugar first thing.

  • It can take time to come around to the taste, but don’t give up. I used to think vegetable juices tasted like dirt—now I crave them.

  • Remember to buy organic produce whenever possible and be sure to wash thoroughly. Juicing allows the body to absorb everything easier and quicker—even the harmful chemicals in non-organic produce.

I hope you fall in love with daily juicing as I and so many others have!
